Assistive technology devices are used to describe products that are designed to provide additional accessibility to individuals with physical or cognitive difficulties, disorders and disabilities. In most cases, the terms “assistive devices” and “adaptive devices” are used interchangeably to describe support , adaptation, rehabilitation and gadgets or appliances that are designed to benefit people with disabilities, and this description also includes the selection, location and use of these devices.
In general , Devices promote greater independence for people with disabilities to perform tasks they were formerly unable to accomplish, and this is achieved by adding improvements or changes in methods of interacting with the technology to accomplish these tasks.
There are different types of assistive devices from a single spoon, the accumulation of high-tech computer equipment. Although there are differences in the types of assistive technology devices their unifying factor is that they are compensatory in nature, they promote independence, and most importantly, they help people with disabilities to adapt and live better in the community. Devices are grouped into different categories namely other computer input devices, daily life, communication, sensory, mobility systems, environmental monitoring, site modifications home / work, aid and position of seats and Finally, recreation and leisure accommodations. adaptive devices are all geared to enable people living with a disability to perform daily routines and tasks with little assistance as possible.The type of adaptive devices used depends on the type and level of physical disability and therefore there are different types of devices that are used to accomplish specific tasks and tasks. In general, these devices help individuals to move, see , eating, dressing or undressing, and perform other daily tasks. assistive technology devices generally help to improve the quality of life for people with disabilities and help them to retain a greater sense of independence. An assistive device may be a wheelchair, an ambitious device, product or even a disability that allows an individual to use a computer. These devices are not just limited to use by people with disabilities physical, however. They can also be used by someone else who has difficulty in performing certain tasks. Daily progress of the technology are constantly showing new ideas to make technological devices even better support and new developments are constantly emerging. The existing assistive technology are constantly updated to improve their effectiveness and ease of use. As demand increases for devices rehabilitation products increasingly being developed, and all this was caused by the desire of people with physical disabilities to take more charge of their daily activities.
